Host a tea party
Here's a great excuse to have a catch up with friends. Your tea party can be as simple or elaborate as you like, and can be hosted almost anywhere. Here are a few hints and tips to help you with your party planning.
PICK YOUR DATE This one’s great to do straight away, so people can get the date in their diaries, and start getting excited! When your pack arrives, you’ll find a handy save the date sticker to pop in your calendar.
SEND YOUR INVITATIONS or create a poster to let everyone know about your party. You could pop it up in your staff room, kitchen or community centre.
DONATIONS Do you have a friend who has a trademark cake? Ask them to bring their showstopper to the party! Most people find they end up with a mixture of homemade creations and shop-bought treats. If anyone bakes something truly stupendous you could always raffle or auction it off! Why not ask your local bakeries or shops if they’ll donate some goodies? You’ll be surprised by how generous people can be to support a great cause!
RAISE MORE A raffle or tombola is a great addition and can make a huge difference to the money you raise. Ask local shops and businesses to donate prizes and ask guests to donate to enter.
TEA PARTY GAMES With the great British weather always unpredictable…an indoor games day is always a safe bet! Try your hand at sugar cube jenga, pin the handle on the teapot, guess the weight of the cake or lucky dip; all fun to play and easy to set up. A great option to keep the kids entertained while the grownups catch up with cake and a cuppa. Quizzes are also popular – you could theme yours around baking or tea.
