University of East Anglia
Breast Cancer UK has established strong links with the School of Biological Sciences at UEA, with the objective of raising awareness amongst young scientists of the environmental and chemical causes of breast cancer. As part of this collaboration we have worked closely with cancer biologists, Dr Helen James and Professor Dylan Edwards, to engage students on various themes including the biology of breast cancer, the role of environmental pollutants in breast cancer, and the response of cultured human cells to Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs). Our Chemicals Policy Officer has also worked with science communication students whose work has helped to inform our own Information Sheets on the science section of the website.
We look forward to continuing this mutually beneficial association and engaging with more young scientists in the future.
